ACUPUNCTURE for all AGES and STAGES of life!
Rebecca hopes to inspire and promote self care and awareness surrounding the importance of having a great ovulation, and how ovulation impacts the menstrual cycle and its relationship to many other aspects of women’s health. It is possible to honour “ that time of the month” rather than want it to vanish! Rebecca understands the significance of each stage of the menstrual cycle and it’s connections to a woman’s overall health, energy, well-being and vitality from puberty through adulthood, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause and beyond. A myriad of problems can arise at any stage and age during a woman’s lifetime, utilising the tools and wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture & Moxibustion, Chinese Herbal medicines, Chinese Dietary therapy and Qigong) women may experience great relief from a number of cycle related problems.
Rebecca is passionate about working with couples who are wanting to conceive naturally and supporting them through the IVF process. Rebecca recognises the challenges that couples face during this time and offers help with navigating through the stressful obstacles and roller-coaster ride of emotions that the fertility journey can involve.
Women generally undergo numerous rounds of drugs, invasive tests and procedures to enhance their chances of conception when couples fail to conceive naturally or through IVF . Men should also undergo more rigorous tests to gain a clearer picture of why couples may not be conceiving. Men can make Better Dietary and positive lifestyle choices to enhance their overall health and well-being and improve fertility outcomes. Western scientific statistics are revealing a continual decline over recent decades in the percentages of viable sperm concentration, morphology and motility whilst DNA fragmentation rates are also becoming problematic.
Stress manifests in so many ways showing up in our bodies as muscle tension, headaches, pain, digestive upsets, anxiety, depression and also how we communicate in our relationships. Taking time out to unwind and recalibrate can relieve stress and tension and help make everyday work, sports and relationships more bearable.
During pregnancy, a woman’s body is undergoing so many incredible changes. Pregnant women need to be nourished on many levels to support the life giving energy that is required of them to sustain and grow a precious baby. Health issues that arise during pregnancy can be tiring, stressful and generally a worrying time. Support for women during this time in their lives is fundamental in preparing them for a positive birthing experience and entry into motherhood. Rebecca teaches Acupressure for Labour techniques to her clients and partners to offer relief during labour, and uses the wisdom of TCM to offer help for a number of conditions during pregnancy.
Traditional Chinese Medicine honours the postpartum period as a time for the woman to be cared for around the clock for at least the first month after the delivery of the baby : "The Golden Month." A special time to rest and recover from the phenomenal efforts of pregnancy, labour and time to bond with newborn ideally surrounded by peace, warmth and safety of the home with family and close friends. An emphasis on providing the new mother with nourishing soups, home cooked meals and ample time to rest, recover and sleep, can all contribute to the mother having the energy and stamina required to continue with the gruelling first few months of regular 3-4 hourly breastfeeds and sleep deprivation and years ahead. Acupuncture, Moxibustion (particularly 'mother warming') and Chinese Herbal Medicines may be of benefit at this time in a woman's life to support her energy, well-being and recovery.
Rebecca is currently expanding her knowledge in the area of TCM and Paediatrics. Her desire to see children as healthy as they can be and because she has two little people of her own has sparked this interest to pursue more study in this area. Gentle treatment approaches using the wisdom of TCM may help kids to thrive and bounce back from illness.
