Rebecca’s introduction to the health care sector started in 1996 when she began studying  Health Information Management at Sydney University.  Rebecca also started working in a community pharmacy in Bondi Beach in 1997, studied Massage in 1998 at Nature Care College Sydney and Western herbal medicine in 1999.

The increasing incidence of  chronic and complex health conditions in hospital and community pharmacy settings ignited her desire to formally pursue study in more holistic approaches to health care.

She was introduced to the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) when working within a public hospital as a pharmacy technician making chemotherapy infusions. Her supervising oncology pharmacist  would discuss the origins of some western pharmaceutical medications whose active ingredients were  isolated from Chinese herbs. Rebecca experienced the positive effects of acupuncture for an injury that she sustained whilst making these infusions,  which prompted her to investigate this intriguing time tested ancient medicine.

Traditional Chinese Medicine seemed to tick all of the holistic boxes -
  • through the lens of Chinese Medicine all organs and physiological processes of the body and its processes are interconnected
  • extensive and dynamic approaches to Bodywork - acupuncture, moxibustion, acupressure,  massage -tui-na, cupping, guasha, dermal rollers;
  • Internal medicine : Chinese herbal medicine and teas, Chinese dietary therapy
  •  Lifestyle practices: daily exercise / movement and breathwork - Tai Chi and Qigong:  harnessing the wisdom of Daoism and placing  importance on living in harmony with nature and respecting the universal laws.

 She began her studies in 2002 at the University of Technology in Sydney and graduated from 4 years of full time study in 2005 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Rebecca  has travelled to China and Vietnam where she observed the extensive application of Traditional Chinese Medicine in hospital and private clinic settings. In 2007 she completed a short internship at Zheijiang Provincial Hospital in the stunning lake city Hangzhou, after attending a 5 day Chinese Medicine Conference in Shanghai, China.

She was an Acupuncturist at sea for 9 months in 2008, introducing acupuncture to passengers and crew cruising through the Caribbean and Europe. In 2009 Rebecca returned to her hometown of Orange in New South Wales to be surrounded by the fresh mountain air, colourful seasons, fresh local produce and peaceful lifestyle of the Central West with her partner and two children.

She continues to learn and develop knowledge in eastern medicine and more Classical approaches  that are the fundamental pillars of this wonderful medicine. Rebecca is committed to refining her skills  through informal and formal study methods  along with being mentored by senior colleagues in the industry.

When away from her clinic she is hanging out with her family, walking her dogs, cooking, gardening, mountain biking, weaving and  macrame'ing.

Rebecca aims to provide the opportunity for you to stop, relax whilst addressing your health concerns and enhancing your overall wellness.
